Artist's Statement:

Withdrawn/Renewal is the title of a collection of six book works, which carry the theme and focus of the withdrawn library book. The books, which have been used in this project, are from a selection of withdrawn books, found on the withdrawn trolley at a London university: the London College of Communication Library.

This project explores renewing the withdrawn book and continuing the withdrawn book's life cycle through creating book forms, which have been inspired by the withdrawn book's subject/title. Thus opening up new meanings and new readings. We live in a throw away society and the importance of this project is recycling and revitalising rejected objects into regenerated new objects.
