This bookwork shows fourteen cafes in the Holloway area of London, UK. It was inspired by the bookworks of Ed Ruscha, in particular his books depicting the road near where he lived in Los Angeles, the everyday shops and garages and the architecture of his time. In this image there is such a variety of architecture to be found along the one mile length of the Holloway Road - I have visited and continue to visit all these tea houses and cafes although some no longer exist now in 2011.
