Current projects, studies, workshops and employment

I teach web design, digital imaging and computing in London colleges as well as privately in my home studio. I also teach Business English in the corporate sector. I run small INSET courses in schools and colleges.

I curate a number of online art and mail art projects as well as artists books - see below

Two of my artists books were on show in the UK, Slovenia and Germany. I also exhibited at 2011 Summer Show Host Gallery in London, 2011

I have recently rejoined the London Independant Photography group and we meet once a month at Goldsmith's. I am currently showing work in the Untitled Gallery - part of the Open College of the Art - where I am doing a course in photography to update my very basic skills in this area. This past year I completed an advanced Photoshop course too which is proving very useful with my Mysteries project.

My background

I have been involved in arts, crafts, graphics and photography since I was 20 when I lived in Greece and ran a design business in Athens and Crete with my partner, where we also ran two discotheques on Crete: Remezzo and The Octopus Garden and designed a number of hotels in Saint Nicholas in Crete. I ran a restaurant/cafe on the island of Mykonos and also ran a clothes boutique for Nikos Skouros, the American designer.

I have a degree from the University of the Creative Arts (formerly known as West Surrey College of Art and Design), Farnham. I am a member of London Independent Photography

I have run many courses and workshops in digital imaging, photography, art and design, textiles, artists books, printmaking both in the UK and in Europe with arts organisations, schools, universities and community centres.

I have travelled across the United States from New York to San Francisco and overland from London to Poona in India to stay at the Bhagwan Rajneesh Ashram. For those who are interested my sannyas name it is Ma Deva Gandha.

I live with my partner, Gary Subassa, a musician, sound designer and bass player in Islington, north London with our small black cat, Pip. I have had a lifelong interest in healing and will be completing my healing training in London starting in 2012.

Current Online Projects

Cafes around the world art/mail art project (www.zyarts.com/cafesaroundtheworld) This project invites contributions from people around the world to send in an image, drawing, postcard of their favourite cafe or of their town where the favourite is situated. what it is like? why do you go there? is it famous? This project comes out of my research into the architecture of the café buildings in my local area, which incorporate a variety of styles from early to late Victorian to art deco, Edwardian, Georgian and Brutalist.

the Picasso electronic book :I decided to create the Picasso electronic book in 2001 to celebrate Picasso's 120th birthday in that year and I sent out a call for contributions, images and text works had to be inspired by Picasso in some way. This project continues online thanks to further promotion by rhizome.org - the New York based multi-media project : (www.zyarts.com/ebook)

The House of Memories. This project invites people to send in images and text works on the theme of memories - of people, places, stories, childhood, etc. Media: photographs, collages, works on paper, 3D objects, envelopes, paintings, prints. This project was inspired by my photo album of my family and relatives who are no longer here but I have some of their precious objects in my possession. (www.zyarts.com/houseofmemories)

from my house/to yours: the journeyweb. I set up this project when we moved home and I was feeling very homesick. I missed the familiar faces, the taxi covered in plastic flowers at the end of my road, the mix of people. I wanted to find out 'what makes you feel at home?'
